Lewis Hamilton, according to Günther Steiner, would have won eight world championships in 2021 if Michael Masi hadn’t been the racing director.

According to the former head of the Haas team, Lewis Hamilton would have won eight world championships by now if Charlie Whiting had still been alive and Michael Masi hadn’t been appointed racing director in 2021.

With the highest level of drama both on and off the track, the 2021 Formula One season will go down in sporting history as a season of renown.

When Hamilton and Max Verstappen fought for the championship in 2021, the on-track struggle took a different turn, with race director Michael Masi playing a major role in many of the choices made during that season.

Nonetheless, the entire back-and-forth in the team’s radio conversation during the race between the race director and the team directors was broadcast worldwide.

Due to these dynamics, there have been numerous instances of the race director mishandling the situation during the Hamilton and Verstappen battle title. All of this culminated in the final race in Abu Dhabi in 2021, where Michael Masi will restart under dubious circumstances with just one round remaining.

It made a lot of noise, backed Max Faston, and culminated in a championship decision.

In his book “Non-Renvillered,” Gantsteiner stated that the former Director of Race, Charie Waters, had ceased to be responsible as of 2019.

Hamilton, the team’s director, will win eight world championships in 2021. There would be a lot less controversy and embarrassment if Charlie Whiting had chosen to replace Michael Massi, he said. “Whatever loyalty you had to it (and yes, I agree it was great entertainment), from a rules perspective it was a bible shit show.”
He added:
“Oh my god. We’re all aware of Charlie’s actions. Lewis would have been an eight-time world champion by now if he had been in control.

Since 2021, Lewis Hamilton’s career has declined.

Lewis Hamilton’s career has been on the downswing since 2021. The British driver hasn’t made a title challenge since this season because Mercedes can’t adjust to the 2022 rule changes.

Even worse, Verstappen and Red Bull have dominated Hamilton in the last two seasons, and he hasn’t even been able to win the race.

In 2024, the driver achieved success during his final season with Mercedes. He triumphed at Silverstone, snapping a two-year race drought. Lewis Hamilton is set to sign a multi-year contract with Ferrari in 2025.

With seven world titles under his belt already, the British driver will now look to join Ferrari in the hopes of creating history there.
