Lewis Hamilton accused of ‘disrespecting’ national anthem

Prior to the race on Sunday, Lewis Hamilton was accused of disrespecting the national anthem of Azerbaijan.

At a pre-race ceremony, Hamilton could be seen putting his fingers in his ears while the anthem was playing.

Social media was used by fans to call on Formula One to intervene and criticize the Mercedes star.

@DaanBarnard said on Twitter: “Lewis Hamilton’s impolite gesture during the Azerbaijan national anthem.” Putting his hands over his ears is a demonstrative example of poor sportsmanship.

A massive backlash would have resulted if another driver had followed suit. Rules must be applied to everyone, according to #F1.

Hamilton scolded by rival
Felipe Massa, a former opponent of Lewis Hamilton, has mocked his aspirations to succeed at Ferrari.

After competing against the British driver for the 2008 world championship, Massa declared, “He’s an exceptional driver.” He possesses almost every F1 record. However, he hasn’t been demonstrating everything that he used to.

His teammate is always ahead of him in the classification these days. Next year, he will be up against the talented Leclerc, who is not an easy opponent. Here’s where age does play a role.”
