Following another incredible Olympics, Simone Biles is a highly sought-after woman. The gymnast is so in demand that she might not be able to support her NFL husband this season.
In the French capital this summer, the 27-year-old, the Olympic all-around champion from the Paris Games, added three more gold and a silver to her glittering medal collection.
But medals come with responsibilities, and Biles disclosed that while she enjoys the gilded glow of her successes, she will have to make some sacrifices.
Biles informed her devoted fans that she would not be able to attend as many of her husband’s NFL games this season. Biles married Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens in 2023.
With just over two weeks until the 2024 season begins, the gymnastics legend acknowledged in a TikTok video that her post-Olympic responsibilities will keep her too busy to support her boyfriend at Soldier Field and on the road this year.
“I’m not sure how many games I’ll be able to make because we’re going on tour in a few weeks—it’stheGold Over America tour, in case you guys weren’t aware.” We’re doing about 32 stops right now, I believe,” Biles remarked.
Beginning on September 16 in Oceanside, California, the tour is a traveling gymnastics exhibition that will showcase a number of gymnastics stars, including Biles and her gold-medal winning USA teammates, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera.
It will travel around the country for thirty stops before coming to an end in Detroit on November 3, which is also Week 9 of the NFL schedule and the halfway point of the regular season.
Biles might, however, be able to watch the Bears’ September 8 season opener against the Tennessee Titans, as well as the second half of the schedule and the postseason, should Chicago win a postseason spot.
After Owens cheered her on from the stands at the Bercy Arena over the weekend, Biles—fresh off her victory in Paris—took on the role of cheerleader in her marriage.
Biles was at Soldier Field on Saturday afternoon for the Bears’ preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but the Olympian made a fashion and football faux pas.
She showed her support for Owens by donning a personalized jacket featuring printed black-and-white photos of him.
But in the various snaps, which showed Owens playing for the Green Bay Packers, the Bears’ longtime bitter rivals and his former team, the Olympic legend committed an NFL rookie mistake.
Apart from the images of Owens dressed in a Packers uniform, some pictures and videos featured a large Green Bay logo on the shoulder pad.
Fans were not impressed with Biles’ attempts to reach out and show support for Owens, even going so far as to say she should be “stripped of all her medals” for her wardrobe mishap. She also found herself in the middle of one of the league’s most intense rivalries.
Before moving to Chicago earlier this year, Owens spent one season playing for the Green Bay Packers last season. Biles was frequently spotted cheering for him at those games.
