Lando Norris finished second behind Oscar Piastri as McLaren dominated the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, and fans have been buzzing online over comments made by Norris’ race engineer about Max Verstappen.
The race featured early drama on the opening lap when Verstappen and Norris went wheel-to-wheel into Turn Two. Norris ran wide during the battle, which saw him fall from second place down to sixth. Despite the setback, he mounted an impressive comeback to secure second place behind his teammate.
After the race, Norris didn’t hold back in his criticism of Verstappen. He claimed the Red Bull driver cost himself a better result by not racing wisely.
“He’s fighting hard, but that’s up to him,” said Norris. “He ruined his own race. He’s not racing very smart. He probably could’ve finished third today, but didn’t because of that.”
Adding to the buzz, a radio message from Norris’ race engineer, Will Joseph, made the rounds on social media. In the message, Joseph told Norris: “Max is complaining about his brakes, try to force him to f**k up his brakes.” The clip quickly went viral, drawing a strong reaction from fans.
