A release date has been set for the Brad Pitt-starrer Formula 1 movie. Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time F1 world champion, is producing the movie as well.

The highly anticipated film starring Brad Pitt about Formula 1 will hit theaters in June 2025. It features scenes shot at the 2023 British Grand Prix.

In association with Formula One, Apple Original Films produced the film, and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton served as a producer. As of right now, Apple and Formula One have confirmed that the film will debut in international markets on June 25 and in North America on June 27.

Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced both of the Top Gun movies, is involved in the project as well as director Joseph Kosinski, who helmed the Tom Cruise blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick. The movie also stars Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies from “The Crown,” and Damson Idris.

A joint statement from Apple and Formula One stated, “The movie is a landmark for the sport and cinema, filmed in real-time during grands prix around the world and involving the Formula One community, including all 10 teams, the drivers, the FIA and race promoters.”

The brand-new feature film, which is set in the thrilling and dramatic world of Formula One, will envelop viewers in the spectacle of the most watched yearly sporting event, honoring the drivers’ bravery and skill while highlighting the tremendous difficulty of competing in the sport.

In the film, Brad Pitt plays a former Formula 1 driver who makes a comeback, and Damson Idris plays his rookie teammate at APXGP, a make-believe grid that competes against real-life teams and drivers.

“The film’s production, which started in 2023, will wrap up at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December, as well as at several other races, including this year’s British Grand Prix.”

Hamilton has contributed significantly to the script in order to make the movie as true to life as possible. When asked about his role in the sport last year, he stated, “We want everyone to love it and to really feel that we encapsulate what the essence of this sport is all about.” “I’m not sure if this would have been feasible under the previous administration ten years ago.

They might not have considered this to be a significant development for the sport. However, this will surpass the impressive work and impact of the Netflix series that we have already witnessed.”

“Lewis was really intent that we respect the sport and show it for what it is,” Pitt, meanwhile, stated to Sky Sports. I had no idea what driving entailed. They are all such incredible athletes, and I have the utmost respect for them all.”
