Rory McIlroy and Amanda Balionis experienced opposing feelings last weekend.

While on a sun-kissed beach vacation, golf presenter Amanda Balionis was blind to Rory McIlroy’s heartbreak at the US Open.

The popular US beach town of the Hamptons is where the bikini-clad CBS Sports reporter spent her weekend. She shared the picture to her Instagram account.

Rumors circulated that Balionis and McIlroy, who had an unforgettable weekend at the US Open, were romantically involved.

Before the last round of play on Sunday in North Carolina, the Northern Irishman had a two-stroke lead. However, he gave up his lead and gave Bryson DeChambeau the victory.

In less than an hour after the collapse, McIlroy left the Pinehurst course and headed back to his £17 million Florida mansion with wife Erica Stoll.

The golfer is going through a difficult moment in his life; he recently called off his planned divorce from wife Stoll. This heartbreak at the US Open is part of that.

The couple dramatically changed their ways before last week’s US Open, despite reports in May that they had filed for divorce.

The four-time major winner addressed the issue by telling The Guardian, “Over the past few weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together.

“Thank goodness, our disagreements have been settled, and we are excited for a fresh start.”

But in between the divorce being finalized and then dropped, rumors of a budding romance between McIlroy and Balionis had begun to circulate.

Following this month’s Canadian Open, Balionis—who was spotted without her wedding ring—is reported to have given McIlroy a warm hug.

However, it appears that McIlroy and Stoll have put their marriage back on course, putting an end to any possible liaison.

Furthermore, it appears from Balionis’ carefree Instagram photo that she is also moving on with her life.

Returning to the game, McIlroy disclosed that he will be taking a break from golf after his crushing loss at the US Open on Sunday.

“Yesterday was a tough day, probably the toughest I’ve had in my nearly 17 years as a professional golfer,” McIlroy wrote in a post on X.

I want to start by congratulating Bryson. He is a deserving champion and the perfect addition to professional golf at this time. I believe everyone can agree on that.

“I feel like I’m closer than ever to taking home my next major championship, as I stated at the beginning of the competition. Resilient is the one word I would use to sum up my career.

“In order to process everything and get myself back in shape for my defense of the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open at Royal Troon, I’m going to take a few weeks off from the game. I’ll see you in Scotland.
