Sergio Garcia’s special message for LIV golfers competing at the Masters in 2024 has sparked reactions from fans on social media. The first Major of the year is set to take place at the Augusta National Golf Club, its permanent venue, from April 11 to 14, and thirteen players from the Saudi circuit have qualified for it. Garcia, a previous Masters champion, recently expressed his excitement about competing the following week. Demonstrating his faith in his league players, he posted a photo of every player in LIV who will compete the following week.
The Spanish golfer posted on his X (previously Twitter) account, saying, “We’re coming for that green jacket @TheMasters.”
Supporters poke fun at the LIV golfers by advising Garcia to make their travel arrangements by Friday evening.
The Masters is a 72-hole competition with a cutline after 36 holes, which should be noted. Individuals who qualify for the final two rounds over the weekend are those who make the round cut on Friday.
One fan wrote, “Book your flight for Friday night.”
Another supporter, however, expressed faith in the LIV players and predicted that Brooks Koepka would triumph this year.
Koepka won his fifth Major, the PGA Championship in 2023, after finishing in a tie for second place at the Masters the previous year. Fans have high expectations for him because of his excellent form, which has made him one of the favorites to win the competition.
One user said, “Brooks is winning the event.”
Another fan commented, “Got his own plane, mate.”
Sergio Garcia is exempt from competition in the Masters for life. After 36 holes, he was unable to make the cut in the tournament that he had participated in the year before.
