WHY BUBBA WATSON COULD BE BOOTED OUT OF LIV GOLF

Bubba Watson reportedly told his LIV Golf teammates that he would be willing to retire if they no longer thought he was good enough to compete.

Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson has revealed he would withdraw from LIV golf events if his teammates told him he was “not good enough” anymore.

Watson is captain of the RangeGoats team that includes 2023 individual champion Talor Gooch, Harold Varner III and Thomas Pieters.

The 44-year-old has struggled to find form since returning from a knee injury that kept him out of action for more than eight months.

Across 13 events, Watson’s personal best was when he placed in the top 10 at the LIV Golf stop at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Watson ranks 36th/48 players on the money list.

The RangeGoats finished fourth in the team standings during the regular season, meaning the team received a bye to the first round of the season-ending $50 million team championship at Trump National Doral .

Watson told reporters:
“I told my team that if they don’t think I’m good enough to play, they can kick me out and we’ll put another good golfer in place mine.”

He added:
“I’ll play until they kick me out. I like helping the kids. They’re all trying to get better and play better golf. I have had the opportunity to impact three golfers in my life, all of whom are young parents and fathers. I want to be there for them and if they have a problem, I want to be able to help them. The team has its own stadium, training center and academy for young golfers.

“We wanted a house of our own,” he said earlier. “We wanted to have our own venue, we wanted to hold an event there, like any sports team.”
