Lewis Hamilton demand issued by Ferrari boss – ‘This Has to End’

Lewis Hamilton has faced criticism during his early days at Ferrari, but team principal Fred Vasseur has come to his defense, urging the media to stop questioning the Brit’s form.

Since his move from Mercedes, Hamilton has found it challenging to consistently deliver top results, though his recent fourth-place finish at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was a step in the right direction.

Despite lingering doubts about whether Hamilton has fully adapted to life at Ferrari and whether he’s maximizing the car’s potential, Vasseur remains confident in his driver. He emphasized that Hamilton’s performance shouldn’t be judged based on a single weekend, whether good or bad.

“You need to stop this,” Vasseur said. “We can’t act like everything is amazing after one good race or a disaster after a tough one. We need to remain calm, stay focused, and keep working as a team.”

Vasseur praised the collective effort from both drivers, including Charles Leclerc, as well as the mechanics and strategy team, stressing that unity is essential for Ferrari to close the gap to the front of the grid.

Even after making his position clear, Vasseur was once again pressed about Hamilton and firmly repeated his message: “You have to stop. Every driver is constantly working with the team, trying to improve. It’s not like Lewis is unprepared one day and a miracle worker the next. We just need to stay patient.”

With a solid showing at Imola under his belt, Hamilton will now aim to build momentum and prove his critics wrong as he continues to settle into his new team.
