During the last practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix, Lance Stroll lost his temper with Lewis Hamilton.
Following his contact with Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll during FP3 of the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton is the subject of a stewards investigation.
At Turn Five, the Aston Martin driver sneaked up on the inside while the seven-time world champion was traveling slowly on the outside line. Hamilton was still in the way when Stroll ran into him as he drifted to the outside line.
“This f***ing guy!” exploded Stroll, unable to control his rage. He believes he is the only one who is on course. After expressing regret, Hamilton added, “I didn’t see him. I apologize.
Before qualifying begins, Hamilton and Stroll will both visit the stewards after the FIA decided to escalate their involvement into an investigation after noticing the on-track incident.
Sky Sports F1 questioned Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff about the matchup. “Yeah, you know, I kind of get it,” was his response. On your fast lap, you can occasionally get blocked in the heat of the moment.
However, the driver is never at fault. The garage provides us with instructions regarding the traffic situation, and no one intentionally does it because they are aware that they could be fined. Therefore, I suppose that in this case, the punishment might be reversed.”
Not just Stroll and Hamilton encountered difficulties at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. After an odd altercation at Turn Five, both Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris were referred to the stewards.
Angry at Norris, who seemed to have done very little wrong, Leclerc chose to jink across the track and collide with the McLaren driver’s wheels.
Norris expressed his disapproval of the Ferrari driver’s “road rage” by saying, “He just drove into me.” I believe I am damaged. Anthony Davidson, a Sky Sports F1 pundit, expressed his disapproval of the incident by saying, “He’s going to get a penalty for that.”
