Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL golf league has been bolstered

The TGL Golf League, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has just announced important news with a series of big names in golf participating in the tournament.

Among those who have recently joined the group are Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrell Hatton, Tom Kim and Shane Lowry. They join Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Rickie Folwer, Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele, Adam Scott, Billy Horschel, Colin Morikawa, Max Homa and Justin Rose.

A new approach to sports

The tournament will launch with six teams, each consisting of three PGA TOUR players competing in a two-hour team golf competition at a purpose-built venue at Palm Beach State College. It will offer a new approach to sport, focusing on technology and innovation. and fan engagement. Top 4 out of 6 TGL teams have been announced. The Los Angeles Golf Club, owned by Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams and Venus Williams, is out for the first time and ready to launch. A Boston team owned by Fenway Sports Group, an Atlanta team owned by Arthur Blank and a New York team owned by Steven Cohen were also confirmed as the initial six clubs.

TGL’s inaugural season has signed a television and streaming deal with ESPN and will begin on January 9, 2024 with a 15-game regular season followed by semifinals and finals.
