According to the president of Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red brand, the golfer may eventually reintroduce the recognizable TW logo that became well-known during his tenure with Nike.
After 27 years, Woods parted ways with the sporting giant at the end of 2023, and the most pressing question at the time seemed to be what the Hall of Famer would do next.
The 15-time major champion didn’t take long to reveal his next project, a clothing line called TaylorMade.
The Sun Day Red merchandise, which Woods unveiled at the Genesis Invitational, went on sale a few weeks ago at exorbitant prices.
It is, after all, a high-end brand.
Another question was what would happen to the TW logo elsewhere.
In 2000, the logo made its debut just in time for the Tiger Slam, which he finished the following year.
And until he left Nike, it remained with him.
Woods didn’t seem to care that he wanted to keep Sun Day Red when he launched it.
He declared, “I don’t want it back.” “I’ve moved on. I’m going through a change in my life.
“I’ve moved on to Sun Day Red, and we’re excited to develop a brand that inspires enthusiasm and has transformative power.”
However, Brad Blinkinship, the president of Sun Day Red, has questioned that claim.
When asked if the TW logo might return, he said to Front Office Sports, “That will be his decision.”
He has stated publicly that incident is now in the past and that he is prepared to move on.
“So, in my opinion, Tiger will make the final decision and time will tell.”
His horde of fans has already reacted favorably to the news.
“This indicates that Tiger is flexible with this brand and that it can develop and truly release somewhat retro collections,” a user commented on X.
Also, Blinkinship has confirmed that Sun Day Red sneakers will be available the following year.
When Woods returned to the game following his 2021 car accident, he wore FootJoy golf shoes because they offered his gammy right ankle far more stability than his Nike shoes.
However, he has on Sun Day Red shoes already.
In the field for the PGA Championship this week, Woods is sporting an appearance we haven’t seen in a long time.
