Tiger Woods provides update on 2024 schedule plan after ‘one event a month’ announcement

Tiger Woods announced ahead of last week’s Hero World Challenge that he intends to play one event a month in 2024, and the American backed up this claim following the end of play on Sunday

Tiger Woods, who won his first tournament in ten months at last week’s Hero World Challenge, has stated that he still plans to follow his one-event-per-month schedule for 2024.

For the first time since pulling out of the Masters in April due to a serious ankle injury, Woods was participating. Due to his fitness issues, it was the first time the 82-time PGA Tour player had completed a 72-hole event since the Genesis Invitational in February.

The 47-year-old surprised many by revealing to reporters prior to the event that he intended to participate in one tournament per month during the 2024 campaign, given his recent history of injury setbacks.

“Maybe a monthly tournament would be the ideal situation, in my opinion. Prior to making his return last week in the Bahamas, Woods stated, “I think that’s realistic.” “Maybe at Genesis to start, and then something in March close to the Players.”

As previously mentioned, the largest events currently scheduled occur once a month. It positions itself to do so. I have to prepare myself for all of that now. This week, in my opinion, is a significant step in that way. Naturally, this occurred prior to him hitting a ball or walking a hole around Albany Golf Club, which had become problematic for Woods on his outings ever since he was hurt in a car accident in February 2021.

However, Woods provided his fans with a positive update after finishing all 72 holes, saying that he will be returning to the game every month after the New Year. When asked if he would honor his pre-tournament declarations, he said, “Yes. I believe I can enter into the rhythm of it.

I believe that I should be able to get into that rhythm if I take a few weeks off to rest and recover, followed by a week to build up. Basically, it just comes down to getting in better shape. My game doesn’t seem that far off, but I still need to improve my physical condition.”

The 15-time major champion shared more encouraging news when he said he felt his round-course pace was getting better every day and that his ankle injury didn’t seem to be a problem. “It has been a while since I competed.

I was eager to sort of get through it and kind of start piecing rounds together again because I hadn’t done it with my ankle the way it is now. It was nice to feel that way again because I hadn’t done this in a long time. I got faster at entering the round every day.

It took me a while to get a handle on it on the first day, but today was easier. And eventually, that’s usually how things work when I play regularly. Usually, I need to warm up before I can get a sense of the surroundings. It took me a while on that first day, to be honest.”
