Lewis Hamilton was recently spotted leaving a restaurant in Monaco with Instagram model Darja Sobakinskaja ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, sparking widespread attention among F1 fans. While the nature of their relationship hasn’t been confirmed, the sighting led to a wave of negative comments online, particularly targeting Sobakinskaja. As a result, the 32-year-old model decided to step away from Instagram for a few days. In a now-deleted story, she wrote:
“More than 100 messages I received today for nothing, sorry but I’m done with Instagram for [the] next few days.”
Hamilton, who is now driving for Ferrari, has a relatively open dating history compared to other drivers, though he is seldom seen with company during race weekends. The recent speculation around his relationship with Sobakinskaja added buzz to the paddock at Monaco.
On the track, Hamilton finished fifth at the Monaco Grand Prix. After receiving a three-place grid penalty for impeding Max Verstappen during qualifying, he began the race in seventh. Reflecting on the race, Hamilton said:
“Obviously I started with the penalty I had down in seventh, was obviously behind two cars for some time and then managed to clear them and then I was kind of just in no man’s land after that. I think the gap was relatively big and I wasn’t racing anyone.
I needed the Safety Car or something to come into play but it didn’t happen so it was just pretty straightforward from there. I didn’t know what I was fighting for… but in actual fact when I look at the data, I wasn’t anywhere near the other guys up front so I used my tyres a lot in that moment but I was so far away from them.”
So far, Hamilton has collected 63 points across eight race weekends this season—21 more than he had at this point last year. However, he still seems to be struggling to fully adapt to the Ferrari SF-25.
