Jon Rahm furious with LIV Golf setup after costly mistake when fighting for win

At the LIV Golf Nashville Invitational on Sunday, Jon Rahm was within a few shots of the lead, but his round was marred when he hit his tee shot into the water on the sixth hole.

The LIV Golf sensation Jon Rahm was clearly irritated during Sunday’s tee-off, venting about the obtrusive drones that were interfering with his game.

Rahm is obviously not impressed with LIV Golf’s use of drones to provide aerial coverage and bring spectators closer to the action. His first shot on the sixth hole ended up in the water, and he instantly blamed the drones for his escalating frustration.

“Every competition. It’s amazing ———. precisely when I turn around. Every time, these ——- drones,” Rahm erupted at LIV Golf Nashville. Before misfortune struck at the sixth, the Spaniard was closing quickly on leader and teammate Tyrrell Hatton, and he needed a flawless back nine to have any chance of winning.

After Tennessee experienced a weather delay, Hatton went on to secure the win. Rahm appears to be under pressure as he hasn’t won a LIV Golf title since making a high-profile move from the PGA Tour and agreeing to a contract worth reportedly over $300 million last year.

Rahm’s year has been filled with hardships; not only did he miss the cut at the PGA Championship and had to withdraw from the U.S. Open due to an injury, but he also failed to win the Masters again, finishing tied for 45th in the opening major of the season.

Rahm had to withdraw from LIV’s Houston event because of a foot injury that worsened from an infected cut on his toe. “After consulting with numerous doctors and my team, I have decided it is best for my long-term health, to withdraw from this week’s US Open Championship,” he said in a heartfelt statement expressing his regret.

“To say I’m disappointed is a massive understatement!” he continued. I want to thank the USGA staff, volunteers, and Pinehurst community for organizing and hosting what I’m sure will be an incredible championship! I also wish all of my peers the best of luck! I’m hoping to get back to work as soon as possible.”

After defeating Rory McIlroy by a mere stroke to win the U.S. Open, Bryson DeChambeau arrived at LIV Nashville still overcome with joy. DeChambeau acknowledged he wasn’t at his best despite the enthusiastic applause he got when he entered the first round, stating: “I’m a zombie right now, I feel like a dead man walking.”

“It’s quite an honor to be out here and have so much support, it’s fantastic,” he said, praising LIV’s spirit and spirit of support. This, along with our long-term efforts and growing momentum, is what LIV is all about. Just being a part of it makes me proud.
