Despite losing one of the biggest names in golf, Jon Rahm, from the TGL roster when he moved to LIV Golf, Tiger Woods is still building his own team.
Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner, three other PGA Tour players, have joined Tiger Woods on his TGL team Jupiter Links GC.
Along with Rory McIlroy, Woods is one of the creative league’s co-founders. He will play for his hometown of Jupiter in the inaugural season, which begins in 2025. And Woods has now completed his roster five months after being announced as the 15-time major champion and owner of the Jupiter franchise.
Alongside him will be Ryder Cup star Homa and six-time winner Kisner, both mainstays of the PGA Tour. Kim, a South Korean star and one of golf’s hottest prospects, rounds out the four-man field.
Even with the support of some of the biggest names on the PGA Tour, TGL has not had an easy time of things. Due to damage to their specially designed SoFi Center stadium, the tech-based league was forced to postpone its launch by a full year, moving the first season from 2024 to 2025.
Because of LIV Golf’s allure, they are still searching for two more players to round out their roster. Following his announcement that he had broken his promise to compete on the TGL circuit and instead chosen to switch to the Saudi circuit, Jon Rahm was the first player to depart.
Subsequently, Rahm signed Ryder Cup partner Hatton to his newly formed LIV team Legion XIII, the two-time major champion. Tyrrell Hatton was also on the TGL roster, but because of his allegiance to the breakaway league, the Englishman was later taken off the league’s website.
Woods stated, “I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product,” in response to his teammates’ announcement. “I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come now that we have finalized our roster with a team of world-class golfers.”
The highly skilled Homa, who has established himself as one of the best players in the game recently, will undoubtedly prove to be a wise addition. The American’s career has taken off in just three years; in that time, he has won five times and made an impression during his Ryder Cup debut in the fall of last year.
And Homa is more than excited about the opportunity to work with what is perhaps the greatest player in golf history. He said, “One of the main reasons I became an avid golfer was following Tiger’s career.” “It’s amazing to play with him now; I remember watching him win the Masters in 1997.
“To be able to call Tiger, Tom, and Kevin teammates is really exciting. I’ll be able to play with some of the world’s best golfers and introduce this innovative and thrilling format to the game thanks to TGL. I’ll also be able to connect with South Florida, one of the top golf markets in the nation.
