When Rory McIlroy was asked to attempt to enumerate all 24 of his PGA Tour victories, Sir Nick Faldo responded with a hilarious response.
Recently, Rory McIlroy was asked to try and remember every single one of his 24 PGA Tour wins.
Golf Digest issued the challenge to the 34-year-old Northern Irishman in an effort to get him excited about the upcoming The Match.
On February 26, McIlroy will compete in the contest’s ninth iteration.
Stars of the LPGA Tour Rose Zhang and Lexi Thompson will compete alongside fellow PGA Tour pro Max Homa.
The game will take place in a darkened arena, just like the one in 2022 when he and Tiger Woods faced off against Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.
McIlroy performed admirably in the task, only failing to remember that he had won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2014.
He declared, “That was one of my favorite victories.”
The two-minute video was also seen by Brandel Chamblee, who said, “I’m not sure what’s so difficult about this… I am able to list them all in order.”
Given that Golf Channel analyst Chamblee has only one PGA Tour victory—the Greater Vancouver Open in 1998—the remark was obviously made in jest.
After watching the video, Sir Nick Faldo commented on X, saying, “Wait till he gets to 66 years old!”
During his illustrious playing career, Faldo won 43 times worldwide and six major championships.
