The circumstances surrounding Red Bull CEO Christian Horner’s case are becoming more complicated by the day. The 50-year-old’sinvestigationis allegedly looking into allegations of “sexual” misbehavior in addition to charges of controlling conduct, according to recent claims made by De Telegraaf. According to these reports, Christian Horner allegedly sent the female employee some improper messages. Within 24 hours of the investigation starting, the Horner camp made a significant settlement offer, according to the report.
According to the most recent story, Horner has been sending the worker some offensive messages. After that, the worker brought up the matter with Red Bull GmbH, and the business engaged a private attorney to start looking into it.
But according to another report from Motorsport Total, the British man was given an opportunity to sort things out. Horner had to resign as team leader voluntarily in order for things to function properly. Later, Horner’s health problems would be officially cited by the organization as the reason for his resignation. Horner hasn’t accepted any such offers, though.
The attorney then questioned Horner for roughly eight hours on February 9th as part of the investigation. It was later revealed that they had presented Horner with a dossier containing fragments of proof derived from the employee’s statements.
Rumor has it that De Telegraaf leaked the contents of the dossier, but if the accusations turn out to be false, the publisher could find itself “legally vulnerable.” According to Motorsport Total, the Red Bull team manager has now sued the publication.
What was Christian Horner’s plan for settling the case?
Since last Monday, there has been more media coverage of Christian Horner’s situation. Furthermore, Liberty Media, the owner of Formula 1, has also expressed interest in the subject. They are closely monitoring the circumstances. Nevertheless, other reports also claim that Ford and Oracle, Red Bull’s two principal partners, are closely monitoring the investigation.
This is due to recent claims made by the De Telegraaf that Horner is primarily being accused of “sexual” misconduct rather than of controlling coercive behavior. According to the most recent article in the Dutch publication, Horner is accused of sending “sexually suggestive messages” to the female employee.
In addition, according to some other reports, the 50-year-old has made every effort to conceal the case. In one of those attempts, Horner’s attorney offers a settlement of $816,000 in exchange.
Horner has denied these accusations, but if he is found guilty of any of them, there could be severe consequences. The Red Bull CEO would first have to resign from his position, ruining years of hard work and tarnishing his reputation. Second, Red Bull’s chances of succeeding will be severely harmed by the loss of such a powerful person.
