Tiger Woods accidentally leaks new logo in first glimpse of new sponsorship deal

Tiger Woods will play competitive golf again at his home tournament, the Genesis Invitational, starting next week. However, he has not yet revealed his new clothing partner following his split from Nike.

After posting a picture on social media that inadvertently displays his new sponsors’ logo, Tiger Woods appears to have verified their identity.

After Woods’ final contract with the American clothing company expired earlier this year, the 48-year-old and Nike ended their 27-year collaboration. The 15-time major champion has not yet revealed a new endorsement agreement more than a month later.

That will have to change when Woods plays his first competitive round of golf again the following week at the Genesis Invitational, which he is hosting for the Tiger Woods Foundation at the Riviera Golf Course in Los Angeles. A day prior to the first round of the competition on February 12, the long-standing world No. 1 is also making a tease about an announcement.

He shared that date and the statement, “The vision remains the same,” on Tuesday on X, formerly known as Twitter. The picture that was attached featured a close-up of Woods’ left eye with light shining on his brown iris, just beneath the brow of a black cap. He shared a similarly cryptic post on Saturday.

In the accompanying image, Woods, sporting another black cap, looks down to the ground with the caption, “A new day rises.” This time, however, the image is a three-quarter length headshot that features him wearing dark-colored pants and a red, unbranded polo shirt.

The top of a golf club in his gloved right hand is also visible. The black accents and white glove are under the spotlight.

Upon closer examination, the ‘Sunday Red’ trademarks that TaylorMade last month appear to depict a leaping tiger. In the center of a different panel on top of the glove is what appears to be the tiger’s hind legs from the logo in black.

The remainder of the glove is hidden in the picture due to the way his hand is positioned. It is the strongest indication yet that Woods’ clothing line, “Sunday Red,” will make its Genesis debut the following week, even though it is not official confirmation.

The term refers to the red attire that Woods is known for donning on Sundays during the championship rounds of competition. Since Nike stopped making equipment six years ago, he has also had a six-year relationship with TaylorMade thanks to his usage of the company’s clubs.

The most prominent of Woods’ teases was his first post on X following his announcement of leaving Nike. He wrote, “I had the good fortune to begin a partnership with one of the most recognizable brands in the world more than 27 years ago.”

“So many incredible things have happened in the days since. I want to personally thank [former Nike CEO] Phil Knight for his vision and passion in bringing this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together. I also want to thank all of the amazing athletes and Nike employees I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.

“People are going to ask if there will be more chapters. Indeed, there will undoubtedly be more chapters.
