Jon Rahm’s team name has been leaked on social media, as well as a player heading onto his team.
Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf team will reportedly be called Legion XIII, according to multiple reports on social media.
Rahm, 30, sent shockwaves through the sport last month when he confirmed he was joining the Saudi-bankrolled LIV Golf League in a reported £450m move.
Early in February, the two-time major champion will play on LIV Golf.
It is anticipated that Rahm’s squad will be formally introduced as Legion XIII.
The Spanish Legion, established by King Alfonso in 1920, served as the model for this name.
Which three players will join Rahm on his LIV Golf team is still a mystery.
Rahm is expected to make an announcement regarding the signing of Jinichiro Kozuma, who was able to qualify for LIV Golf through one of its recent Promotions events.
LIV Golf Updates and Flushing It on Twitter / X both verified the updates.
Kozuma, 29, earned his playing rights on the circuit for 2024 by placing third and final in the LIV Promotions tournament held last month.
He teamed up with Kieran Vincent, the runner-up, and winner Kalle Samooja.
Samooja was disclosed as a new recruit on Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks GC yesterday.
Kozuma has two Japan Golf Tour victories under his belt.
He won the Token Homemate Cup in 2022 and the Taihheiyo Masters in 2020.
While some have applauded Rahm’s decision to accept the money after the PGA Tour started talks with LIV’s Saudi backers, others have expressed displeasure with the 30-year-old’ssignificantreversal.
Rahm had previously scoffed at rumors that he was involved in a move and criticized the structure of the breakaway tour.
As previously stated, “It’s not a proper golf tournament.”
According to recent reports, LIV is reportedly discussing switching from 54 to 72 hole events.
It is understood that LIV Golf will formally confirm Rahm’s team name and the composition of his squad in the coming days.
