Can the F1 champion team bring the Adrian Newey supercar to Le Mans?

Max Verstappen has downplayed his chances of racing the Adrian Newey-designed Aston Martin Valkyrie at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

But the Dutch driver revealed his hope that Red Bull could send its anticipated RB17, another Newey-designed Hypercar, to a future World Endurance Championship.

Verstappen has never been shy about declaring his desire to compete at Le Mans, having participated in the virtual race alongside his Team Redline teammates in recent years.

Aston Martin has announced its entry into the Hypercar category ahead of the weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix – where Verstappen will be able to win his third F1 world championship title – and will join Toyota, Ferrari, Porsche and Peugeot, along with other firms, in an attractive network. .

Good prepare

When asked if he might consider taking on the Valkyrie at Circuit de la Sarthe, Verstappen told media including RacingNews365:
“I will definitely go to Le Mans, but everything has to come together. “I don’t want to just go out and fill the field. If I compete, I want to be well prepared and I want to be able to win.

“Of course having BoP [balance of performance] is always a bit difficult but at least I want to be competitive, so it has to be with good preparation and of course, if possible, maybe with RB17 .”

But it’s great, I think it’s great for the sport that they’re involved with Valkyrie.

“It’s an incredible car and the V12 will sound incredible. I’m glad they’re doing it, I’ll watch and maybe Fernando will drive the car, so it’ll be cool.”
