The Ryder Cup is over. Team Europe won on Sunday 16½-11½, but the drama and chaos were undiminished. Now, Pat Perez’s wife, Ashley, has joined the debate via Instagram comments, which is rarely a good idea.
As a reminder (because the Marco Simone brouhaha story seems to be decades old), Rory McIlroy lost his temper outside the clubhouse while yelling and pointing at someone in the parking lot. This happened after McIlroy became heated during an altercation with Joe LaCava over his hat-waving. He was eventually retained by Shane Lowry and Jim “Bones” Mackay to act as mediator. This angry back and forth of an American practitioner’s hat waving was observed by many people, including Ashley Perez.
Perez commented: “I can’t be the only one who really enjoys seeing Rory get punched in the face 🙂. “I mean that in the best possible way…sort of 🙃.”
Well, that’s certainly something worth noting. And this isn’t the first time LIV’s wife has made her interesting opinions known to the world via Instagram. She had some thoughts on Tiger Woods’ car crash in 2021 and even made fun of Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele’s drinking trip.
