Lewis Hamilton delivered the verdict at the Singapore Grand Prix under the Red Bull pair as Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez failed to finish on the podium on Sunday.

Lewis Hamilton has suggested that Red Bull is working on next year’s car after a disappointing Singapore Grand Prix for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

Verstappen’s 10-race winning streak ended in Southeast Asia after he finished in fifth place, starting from 11th. However, things could have been much worse for the Dutch driver. Lan, who avoided a penalty in qualifying despite three separate investigations by Formula 1 stewards. Meanwhile, Perez finished eighth as Red Bull slumped in Singapore, although they remained 309 points ahead of second-placed Mercedes in the constructors’ standings. However, Red Bull would have hoped for a better performance and Hamilton assessed why they might have fallen short.

“I don’t really know why they fell behind in terms of pace,” Hamilton said. “But I think it’s great to see others, like [McLaren and Ferrari] have accelerated so quickly.

“It’s great to see Ferrari have really stepped up and I think that’s positive. Maybe, if you think about it, they haven’t evolved. Obviously McLaren has made an upgrade here, others are also giving upgrades.

“They [Red Bull] are working on next year’s car so… they have less time in the wind tunnel, so they’ll probably use some of this year’s car for next year, they’re sure.” will definitely migrate before us.”

“No, I think it’s just one of those things. They are so clear in front that they are probably developing their car less and we continue to work hard to develop our current car. But time will tell.”

Carlos Sainz and Ferrari were the main beneficiaries of Red Bull’s poor momentum to claim their first win of the campaign. Lando Norris and Hamilton finished second and third respectively, with Charles Leclerc taking fourth place.

Speaking after his historic win, Sainz said:
“A great feeling, a great weekend. I want to thank everyone at Ferrari for the huge effort to turn things around, we did everything right. It’s about knowing your limits to manage the race, to make sure that I reach my goal (to bite).

“It’s all about respecting our limits on tire wear and degradation, while managing time to ensure we hit the target laps we want to do in each zone . Obviously, a safety car forced us to pit even earlier than we wanted and I knew it was going to be a long run on the hard track.

“”I felt under control to be honest, I always felt like I had the head space and the pace in hand to do whatever I wanted to do. I’m not going to lie, you are under pressure obviously, you are very close to making any kind of mistake but I felt under control and that I could manage well. We brought it home and that’s the best feeling, I’m over the moon right now.”
