Toto Wolff aims very strong FIA accusation as Mercedes boss seething at United States GP

When the Circuit of the Americas saw the chequered flag, Toto Wolff became enraged.

After George Russell received a five-second time penalty but Max Verstappen avoided one, Toto Wolff claimed that the FIA’s stewarding decisions during the US Grand Prix were “biased.”

During the early part of the race, Russell cut through the field and forced Valtteri Bottas off the tarmac at Turn 12, earning him a contentious penalty. After a similar violation, Pierre Gasly met the same end.

Verstappen, however, pushed title rival Lando Norris off in the same corner later in the race. The three-time world champion avoided injury after the Brit overtook off the track around the outside and was later given a five-second penalty.

Russell appeared on the radio following the chequered flag to inquire as to whether Verstappen was penalized for an earlier incident at the beginning of the race in which he shoved polesitter Norris wide, costing them both positions.

In the end, Lando received a penalty for being pushed off and passing on the outside, Wolff said after stating, “No, he didn’t get a penalty.” I suppose the decision-making is a little biased, but I’m not shocked.
