Golf fans blast PGA Tour ‘clown show’ at RBC Heritage

Many supporters of the PGA Tour on X voiced their annoyance following the RBC Heritage’s forced Monday finish at Harbour Town Golf Links.

Several PGA Tour spectators voiced their displeasure following the RBC Heritage’s forced Monday finish.

Due to the possibility of lightning, play at Harbour Town Golf Links was halted on Sunday afternoon at 4:28 p.m.

Players returned to the course after a two and a half hour break, but it looked impossible to complete the signature event.

Many were left wondering why, in light of the forecast, the tea times hadn’t been moved forward.

To the official PGA Tour communications account, one X user wrote, “You guys make it so hard to watch your product.”

“If only this could be avoided,” a second person said.

“An embarrassing day for PGA Tour management,” the user wrote.

“They could have completed before the rain by simply moving up the tee times.

“After being required to play the week following a major, the stars were thrilled to finally go home tonight.”

Play on the 20-under format was officially canceled at 7:45 p.m. due to darkness, with world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leading by five strokes.

On the 16th hole, Scheffler will pick up his final round.

On the fifteenth hole, Scheffler found the water with his second shot and then made an amazing up-and-down to save par before play was stopped.

In order to salvage a five and virtually win the tournament, Scheffler hooked a wedge from 130 yards to a back left pin and then made a hole-in-one putt.

Scheffler won the Masters last week, marking his second career victory.

Even though he was exhausted, he insisted earlier in the week that he had no plans to withdraw this week.

In five starts, Scheffler is attempting to win his fourth.
