BRYSON DECHAMBEAU MAKES FRESH CLAIM ABOUT LIV GOLF’S OWGR SITUATION

Despite what has been stated, Bryson DeChambeau asserts that LIV Golf has met the requirements of the Official World Golf Ranking.

According to Bryson DeChambeau, LIV Golf has met the requirements outlined by the Official World Golf Ranking.

On the most recent episode of LIV’s Fairway To Heaven podcast, DeChambeau made the claim.

The American discussed his master’s program, content creation, his future goals, and the influence of his parents on his career.

The golfer has obviously been greatly impacted by the death of his father, Jon, who passed away in November of last year at the age of 63.

However, DeChambeau became especially agitated when discussing the topic of world ranking points.

Just in case you were able to avoid the news, LIV Golf is not OWGR accredited.

It indicates that their players have had difficulty qualifying for important championships.

To many, Joaquin Niemann’s invitation to the Masters was the first for a LIV player, and it seemed like Augusta National was reaching out to them.

However, the reason for the Chilean’s inclusion is that he won the Australian Open in January and was a former Latin America Amateur Champion.

There has been discussion about whether or not LIV should be accredited by OWGR for the past two years.

Over the last two years, DeChambeau has brought up the subject on several occasions. As are his colleagues and Greg Norman, the head of LIV.

The previously mentioned Norman is said to have informed LIV players that they would receive points. He recently called the state of affairs “laughable.”

For some critics of LIV, the answer is not just straightforward. Do you want to get points? Meet the prerequisites. According to DeChambeau, LIV have.

DeChambeau remarked, “I have words that I’d love to say but I can’t about it.”

“Despite what everyone believes, we have met all of the requirements that they stated you need.”

“If you go look at their handbook, we have met every single requirement,” he said. It has now been more than two years. Guys, what’s going on?

“We’re at a loss for what to do right now, which is a little frustrating.

“They will be unable to prevent us from competing if we demonstrate our abilities in the major titles.

“We just got to play well in the majors and once we do, they have no choice.”

For the time being, DeChambeau doesn’t need to worry about his ranking in order to enter the majors. Right now, he’s ranked 169th in the world.

He got the exemptions he needs for 2024 thanks to his win at Winged Foot in the 2021 U.S. Open. However, the exemptions are only temporary.

DeChambeau had a straightforward idea for reuniting the golf community before his time on the podcast came to an end.

He declared, “The death to egos needs to occur.” “From every angle. And it’s a positive move for the game of golf if that is possible.”
