Red Bull make Christian Horner decision for F1 launch amid ‘inappropriate behaviour’ probe

Red Bull are preparing to launch their upcoming 2024 season and have announced whether Team Principal Christian Horner will be in attendance for the event amid an ongoing internal investigation

In the midst of an ongoing investigation, Red Bull has confirmed that Christian Horner, the under fire boss, will attend their 2024 season launch event.

The 50-year-old is at the center of an internal investigation after being charged with engaging in “inappropriate behavior.” Horner has refuted those claims emphatically.

He met with a lawyer on Friday, and a decision is not anticipated anytime soon. Prior to that, Horner appears to be essential to Red Bull’s campaign preparation efforts.

Red Bull has revealed that he will be present at the team’s Milton Keynes headquarters for a live-streamed performance. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. GMT on Thursday.

Alongside Horner will be Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and current world champion Max Verstappen. Emely de Heus and Hamda Al Qubaisi, two academy drivers, will also be present.

Red Bull has already included Horner fully in the campaign’s preparations. He was observed on Tuesday during the RB20 car’s testing at Silverstone.

This occurred while former Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone refuted rumors that, in light of the ongoing probe, he had encouraged Horner to resign. “To clarify reports by newspapers that I had urged or suggested that Christian Horner should step down from his position in Red Bull is entirely UNTRUE,” the 93-year-old wrote on his Instagram story.

Red Bull made the following announcement in response to the initial accusations: “The company launched an independent investigation after learning of certain recent allegations. An outside specialist barrister is handling this process.

“The inquiry will be finished as soon as it is practically feasible. Further comments would not be appropriate at this time.

Red Bull has experienced tremendous success since Horner, 50, took over as team principal in 2005. Sebastian Vettel and Marc Webber’s partnership helped the team win its first Formula One title in 2010; they went on to win three more titles together.

Since then, the team has experienced more dominance, with Verstappen playing a major part. Red Bull has won two Constructors’ titles in the past three years, while the Dutchman has won three Drivers’ Championships.
