With Max Verstappen completely dominating F1, a third world championship is imminent. How can he win the 2023 F1 world championship in Qatar?
Verstappen is on track to win his third consecutive drivers’ title after his latest win at the Japanese Grand Prix.
He has won 13 out of 15 F1 2023 races and is facing another title in Qatar. Ranked ahead of Qatar, Verstappen is 177 points ahead of teammate Sergio Perez, with 180 points on the board.
Simply put, if Verstappen finishes sixth (3 points awarded) in the sprint race, he will win the championship even if Perez wins all eight points.
Seventh place will be enough for the sprint if Perez is second, while eighth place will also clinch the title if Perez is third.
If Perez finishes fourth or lower in the sprint race, Verstappen will win the championship anyway.
Based on his recent form, it looks like Verstappen will claim his third title by winning the Qatar sprint race.
