Jon Rahm in foul-mouthed outburst as frustration boils over at LIV Golf Las Vegas

New recruit Jon Rahm expressed his frustrations on the course for the second consecutive tournament after LIV Golf Las Vegas arrived, as he was overheard cursing on hot mics throughout the course.

On Day Two of his second LIV Golf event in Las Vegas, Jon Rahm was unable to contain his frustrations.

Rahm debuted at LIV Golf Mayakoba earlier this month after making the big-money switch from the PGA Tour earlier this year. At -10, he placed third in Mexico and experienced victory with his Legion XIII squad in their inaugural competition.

LIV seized the opportunity to participate in the celebrations in Sin City with their second competition of the year when the Super Bowl made its way to Las Vegas. Rahm began his second round with two birdies in the first three holes after finishing the first round at two under.

However, he remained irritated by a few lost chances, none more so than the 17th hole. A twelve-foot putt failed to break as he had expected, missing to the left by a few inches, denying him a birdie.

The irate Spaniard was captured on camera around the green yelling, “How is that f possible, man?!” as the ball missed the hole. With a look of disgust, he raised his arms in the air.

His frustrations with the greens continued, and on the very next hole he had a long putt for birdie and had the line perfected, only to leave it short. But going into the last round, he was still in the mix as Bryson DeChambeau surged ahead with an incredible performance on Friday.

Rahm’s offensive language on the course has been captured by the hot mics for the second week in a row. He was heard shouting “f* off” last week on the eighth hole after misjudging an approach shot. He then reacted similarly on the eighteenth hole, yelling, “F*! Get lucky,” as an approach shot went into a green side bunker.

Speaking prior to the competition in Las Vegas, Rahm expressed his frustration at missing the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which was happening concurrently on the PGA Tour.

“Those were hard weeks, Torrey and Palm Springs,” he remarked. He began, “I’ve explained so many times how important Torrey is for me,” and then he apologized for not being able to play at the WM Phoenix Open.

“It’s definitely emotional, knowing that I wasn’t going to play in Phoenix and having to drive by there frequently. That is among the things I will miss.

Regarding the LIV Golf Tour, Rahm acknowledged that it is “definitely different.” “The music and atmosphere are different for those watching, but I find it to be very entertaining.

It generates a level of audience participation that surprised me. It was a lot of fun to play golf in front of an audience that was clearly enjoying the music and the game.”
