Report: Adrian Meronk set to join LIV Golf, Tyrrell Hatton may not be far behind

Adrian Meronk is headed to the rival circuit from the PGA Tour, eight days before LIV Golf opens the 2024 season and roughly eight hours after he withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour.

Meronk, regarded as the biggest snub from the European Ryder Cup team of 2023, will sign with LIV Golf in time for the inaugural competition in Mexico from February 2–4, according to a report by The Times of London. Last week, he placed second in the Hero Desert Dubai Classic. According to reports, Meronk will join Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks.

According to the Times report, LIV Golf is still pursuing Tyrrell Hatton of England, who was named as one of the newest entries for the 2024 WM Phoenix Open earlier on Wednesday. Both that tournament and LIV Golf’s second event of 2024 in Las Vegas from February 7–11 are scheduled for Super Bowl weekend.

According to the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, Meronk is rated 56th. Hatton comes in ninth. Among those on LIV Golf, only Jon Rahm, who is ranked No. 5, is ranked higher.
