Kultida Woods, the mother of golf’s biggest star, Tiger Woods, died on Tuesday, the 15-time major champion said. He did not give the cause of his death.
“My mother was the power of nature, her mind was simply undeniable. “She moved the needle fast and she was laughing,” Tiger Woods wrote in X.
“She was my biggest fan and biggest supporter. Without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible.” She was loved by many, but especially by her two grandsons, Sam and Charlie.
Tiger Woods thanked his fans for their support and prayers, and asked for privacy “during this difficult time for me and my family.”
The 82-time PGA Tour winner ended his message with: “I love you, Mom. »
Kultida Woods, from Thailand, is often seen with her son. Last month, she was spotted accompanying Tiger Woods in a Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) match. During a visit to the SoFi Center in Florida, ESPN showed Kultida Woods smiling and clapping after her famous son scored a point.
She was by his side when the golf legend faced one of the darkest periods of his life: In 2010, he held a press conference with the world watching and admitted to having multiple extramarital affairs.
Kultida Woods had a front row seat alongside Tiger Woods in a public confession in which Woods admitted his actions were “unacceptable” and that he “failed to live up to the core values instilled in me by my parents.”
Tiger Woods credits his mother for helping him wear his now-iconic red-and-black jumpsuit on the final day of a golf tournament.
“My mom thought that because I’m a Capricorn, red was a power color or something, so I started wearing red and I won a few golf tournaments,” Woods told Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” last year. “And just to piss her off, I wore the blue uniform and didn’t win that tournament. So mom is always right.”
