This is just a personal vendetta Nick Kyrgios claims of ex-girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya influencing feud with Italian

Nick Kyrgios has hit back at claims that his animosity towards Jannik Sinner stems from the world number one dating his ex-girlfriend, tennis player Anna Kalinska. The Australian has firmly rejected the suggestion, saying his issue with Sinner is rooted in the world number one’s failed drug tests. Kyrgios has not hidden his contempt for the Italian since he escaped suspension after testing positive for Clostebol.

After the not guilty verdict, the Australian accused Sinner of “acting like the victim,” criticized Lleyton’s son Hewitt Crews for practicing with the world number one, and called the two-time Grand Slam champion a “Grinch” Slam.

Nick Kyrgios’ frequent and harsh attacks on Jannik Sinner led tennis journalist Jon Wertheim to suggest that the Australian may be motivated by personal grievances rather than a “real doping issue.”

In conversation with Andy Roddick on the former World No. 1\’s \’Served\’ podcast, Wertheim suggested that Sinner\’s relationship with Anna Kalinskaya, who previously dated Kyrgios in 2020, was the real source of the hostility.

\”This is just a personal vendetta. “It involves a woman who is also an athlete,” Wertheim said.

“But he didn’t seem to understand the doping protocols or even the context, which led me to conclude that this was all just an unscrupulous vendetta against an athlete who was dating his ex-girlfriend and nothing more,” he added.

However, Kyrgios vehemently rejected Jon Wertheim’s claims, insisting he had no time for players who “cheated the system”. The 29-year-old claimed he did not care who Sinner was dating and stressed he was in a happy relationship with girlfriend Costeen Hatzi.

The Australian also criticised Andy Roddick, who supported Wertheim’s comments, calling him a “sheep”.

“Haha, sure, sweep, sweep, sweep, why is it my fault now? I didn’t care that the sinner would put his tree on Roddik- You didn’t think you had a sheep, my boyfriend, laughs, and \ “kirgios in H. Despite his denial, Nick Kyrgios has previously come under fire for making derogatory comments about his ex-girlfriend Anna Kalinska during his feud with Jannik Sinner.

Nick Kyrgios: ‘If I played Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open I would just turn it into a complete mess, I would lose all respect’

With the Australian Open set to begin on January 12, Nick Kyrgios recently expressed his desire to bring his rivalry with Jannik Sinner to his home Grand Slam tennis court.

While appearing on the “Nothing Major” podcast, the Australian claimed he would “lose all respect” if the showdown were to happen and rally the crowd against Sinner in an attempt to win.

\”I just want to go out there and I really want to play Jannik Sinner. Like I\’m waiting for it man,\” Kyrgios said. \”If I played him in Australian Open, like I would get every single person in the crowd to just like get on him.\”

\”Like I would just turn it into an absolute riot. Like I would lose all respect, all respect would go out the window and I would just do anything to win,\” he added. Kyrgios is hoping to face Jannik Sinner but the Australian Open clash seems unlikely after the 29-year-old sustained an abdominal tear.
