“This a very sad day for all of golf” – Tiger Woods pens a heartfelt message for late golfer…

Tiger Woods has penned an emotional message for the late golf journalist Steve DiMeglio, who passed away earlier this week at age 63. He had been battling cancer.

Woods shared a message in memory of DiMeglio on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He talked about their meetings in Bahamas last month during the hero world challenge 2024.

\ “Unfortunately, the golf world has lost a part of our family today, the beloved golfer Steve Dimriio. Last month, let’s meet each other in Bahamas in Bahamas. And we did it, and I’m so grateful. Today is a very sad day for everyone involved in golf. We have truly lost a friend. »

Dimeglio has contributed to USA Today Sports and also worked for Golfweek for years. In 2022, he received a diagnosis of kidney cancer. Roxana Scott, editor in chief of USA Today Sports, also spoke about DiMeglio’s death, saying (via Golfweek ):

“He had a passion for golf that was reflected in his writing and the relationships he built over the years. It was so great to see the video of Steve being greeted by Tiger in the Bahamas last month.” I’m sure that meant a lot to Steve. We will all miss Steve\’s thoughtfulness, his updates on his sports bets and his wonderful storytelling.\”

DiMeglio was pretty active on X during the time he battled cancer. He used to share updates about his health on the platform.

Steve Dimprio’s death left everyone from golf. Golfers and LPGA tours on the PGA tour shared messages on social networks by recalling the late golfer.

PGA Tour pro Billy Horschel wrote:

\”Sad day for the golfing world. Steve DiMeglio was one of the most well liked and respected people in the media. We had a great relationship and were always joking with each other, he was worried but still kept his spirits up and gave me a hard time about my clothing choices. He will be greatly missed, as will the golf world.»
