A new era at Ferrari has begun when Lewis Hamilton officially became a driver for the Scuderia. Subsequently, as the new year has also begun, fans are extremely eager to know when the Briton will take the wheel of his Ferrari for the first time. Information about his performance schedule and when he will be behind the wheel of a Mercedes has already been made public.
When Will Lewis Hamilton Mark His Ferrari Debut?
He could have started his journey with Ferrari at the post-season test in Abu Dhabi, but the seven-time world champion was made to wait and, as team principal Toto Wolff explained, some commitments got in the way.
But that long wait is also set to end as his time with the Silver Arrows has officially come to an end. Hamilton is reportedly likely to test an older-spec Ferrari F1 car at the private Fiorano test track later this month, and can be seen behind the wheel of the SF-75 from January 20-25.
Last season, after surviving several seasons with Mercedes, Hamilton expressed the desire to rekindle before the start of Ferrari.
After an unwanted highlight with Mercedes, Hamilton cited Sky Sports F1:
He’d love to go on holiday, but once he comes to his senses, the Brit can’t wait to get back to work with the engineers at Maranello. As with any athlete, let alone an F1 driver, the 39-year-old veteran will need time to get used to the new car, but Ferrari is doing all it can to make him feel comfortable from the get-go, even adapting the car’s philosophy to suit his driving style. As for his official debut with Ferrari, Hamilton is scheduled to take part in pre-season testing at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain from the 26th to the 28th.
