Speaking to the media following the Mexican Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton

Although he was happy with his Mexican Grand Prix finish, Lewis Hamilton was upset with himself for a set-up error.

The British athlete was happy with his progress, finishing in fourth place, two spots above his qualifying position. In his battle with Lando Norris, he benefited from Max Verstappen’s huge penalties, and Hamilton defeated teammate George Russell in the closing moments.

Nevertheless, neither of the Mercedes drivers ever made it to the podium. Both were more than half a minute behind the third-place Ferrari driver until Charles Leclercpitted on the penultimate lap to claim the fastest lap point.

Additionally, the seven-time Formula One champion acknowledged that he was hindered during the Grand Prix by a set-up error. “First off, it’s great to get fourth and fifth,” he said. I am pleased with myself for being able to keep going, have a better weekend than the previous one, finish the race, and earn those points.

“I am truly appreciative of that and pleased with the performance overall. I had a strong start, but I removed too much of the front wing from the car, which caused a lot of understeer. In that first stint, I had essentially knocked out the front tires. Following the modifications, following the pit.

But because I could tell exactly where the car was working and where it wasn’t, it was an incredibly enlightening and educational race. I can see the difference between George and me when I’m behind, and I can clearly see where the car is giving up.

Thus, it will be intriguing to observeā€¦ All of the data from our two running cars is now in their possession. We can both benefit from the good points and data, and hopefully it will improve our chances of winning the next race.
