Lewis Hamilton dug out by ex-rival as Toto Wolff brutally piles on Red Bull woes

Red Bull is eager to stop the downward trend that has seen Lando Norris and McLaren jeopardize their two World Championship titles as the Formula One season moves to Singapore.

After a challenging weekend in Azerbaijan, Norris’ lead over championship leader Max Verstappen has shrunk to 59 points. With seven races remaining, McLaren is currently leading the team standings by 20 points.

Oscar Piastri has promised to support his British colleague in his pursuit of the three-time champion. But after winning the chequered flag last Sunday, the Australian is starting to become a force to be reckoned with.

Nonetheless, following the contentious late crash involving Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez of Ferrari, the fallout from Baku has persisted. Toto Wolff, the head of Mercedes, also called Lewis Hamilton’s weekend a “horror,” even though he finished ninth in the race despite starting from the pits.

Red Bull accused of mid-season ‘collapse’
Toto Wolff has taken aim at Red Bull for their significant decline in performance and speed this year.

“It’s difficult to correlate and to find out what is really causing this swing of performance,” the Austrian said during a speech in Singapore. “You don’t always see them from season to season.”

Never write off Verstappen and Red Bull, even though at the beginning of the year many would have predicted another runaway championship, which ultimately collapsed as it is now.

Hamilton scolded by rival
Felipe Massa, a former opponent of Lewis Hamilton, has mocked his aspirations to succeed at Ferrari.

After competing against the British driver for the 2008 world championship, Massa declared, “He’s an exceptional driver.” He possesses almost every F1 record. However, he hasn’t been demonstrating everything that he used to.

His teammate is always ahead of him in the classification these days. Next year, he will be up against the talented Leclerc, who is not an easy opponent. Here’s where age does play a role.”
