Shanon, Simone Biles’ biological mother, has spoken out about the legendary athlete from Team USA and asked that she and her siblings get back together.
Shanon, Simone Biles’ estranged birth mother, has begged the accomplished American gymnast for forgiveness for her previous transgressions.
In addition to her silver medal in the floor routine, Biles added team, all-around, and vault titles to her impressive collection of medals from the recent Paris Games. She now shares the record for the second-most medals won by a female gymnast in the Olympics with Vera Caslavska of Czechoslovakia with eleven.
Shanon expressed her desire for a reunion in an interview with the Daily Mail, hoping that Biles would reach out and let her ask for forgiveness. The 52-year-old made the decision to leave Biles and the gymnast’s siblings because she had battled drug addiction in the past.
Shannon said, “It was difficult to give up my kids, but I had to make the necessary decisions.” “I couldn’t take care of them. My father didn’t want me to come and go from their lives when I wasn’t right because I was still using. I had a stubborn mindset.
“I screamed, ‘I want to see my kids, why are you doing this to me?’ I didn’t care.” Years later, I realized why, even though I hadn’t understood at the time. I had to take care of myself first.”
Faced with worsening problems as a result of Shanon’s drug usage, her father Ronald and his spouse Nellie took custody of her young daughters and sent them to Texas. Harriet, Ronald’s sister, was in Cleveland taking care of Shanon’s older children, Tevin and Ashley.
Shanon stays in touch with Biles’s biological father, Kevin Clemons, who lives in Cleveland and is still not close to his daughter because of his own addiction issues. Shanon said, “We both want to see her,” to convey how she felt.
I speak with him frequently. “If you talk to Simone, please give my number to her,” he says. I wish we could speak with her. But even with her, I can’t communicate. I have to deal with my father.”
“I want to let her know I love her and I’m very proud of her,” Shanon continued. I’m still waiting, though.
Although Shanon speaks with Biles’ sister Adria, she was not invited to Biles’ recent wedding to NFL player Jonathan Owens despite having a complicated relationship with the actress. Nevertheless, Shanon threw a celebration in the backyard of her Columbus, Ohio home to honor Biles’ incredible achievement at the Olympics in Paris.
Even though Shanon has Biles’s phone number, she hasn’t called because she thinks the renowned Olympian ought to make the first move. She has declared that she is looking forward to that much-awaited call.
