
Lewis Hamilton, a Mercedes driver, was visibly emotional on team radio as he celebrated winning the British Grand Prix. The Silver Arrows driver held off Max Verstappen for second place.
After winning the British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was overcome with emotion.
From second on the grid, the Mercedes driver put on an incredible drive to win his ninth race at Silverstone. In a race affected by rain, Hamilton outperformed Lando Norris and Max Verstappen by precisely executing his plan.
After a challenging three seasons following his contentiously lost 2021 world championship to Verstappen, Hamilton’s first victory since the 2021 Saudi Grand Prix. In the last three laps, Verstappen surged past Norris to take second place, and he had to hold off the Dutchman.
But he held on to secure a victory that broke all records. Boss Toto Wolff and race engineer Pete Bonnigton congratulated Hamilton over team radio. The iconic British man was obviously upset as he found it difficult to speak. The Mercedes star expressed gratitude to all of them. To get this one is very significant. I’m very grateful to all of my fans; you guys are the best. Bono, I adore you.
In front of the audience, Hamilton completed his victory lap while waving a Union Jack. After getting out of his car, he hugged his father Anthony. He ran into Bonnington en route to the podium, where he accepted the constructors’ trophy on Mercedes’s behalf.
Hamilton threw a Union Jack over his shoulders and they walked arm in arm to the podium after giving the engineer a hug.
