With a close victory over Rory McIlroy at Pinehurst 2, Bryson DeChambeau secured his second US Open Major title. The Northern Irishman won his second major championship of his career by maintaining his composure on the last hole of the US Open.
Paige Spiranac also attacked Brandel Chamblee, a golf reporter for Golf, on X for downplaying the victory of the LIV superstar.
Paige penned:
“Brandel’s statement that Bryson won the US Open because of “good fortune” is absurd. doesn’t even attempt to conceal how much he hates him. SMH
Chamblee has expressed his disapproval of LIV Golf and its players quite vocally. Previously, he has publicly attacked several LIV golfers; Anthony Kim is the most recent example.
Conversely, Rory McIlory has an even longer winless streak in the Major Leagues. 3,598 days have passed since the World No. 3’s last Major victory at the 2014 PGA Championship. There was never any letup in McIlroy and DeChambeau’s rivalry. For most of the last day, Bryson trailed behind McIlroy in the standings.
