LIV Golf rebel Bryson DeChambeau makes plea as PGA Tour comparison is made

LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau has encouraged followers to give the breakaway tour a chance, stating that if they attend to watch, they’ll become “fans for life.”

Bryson DeChambeau, the rebel of LIV Golf, has made a sincere appeal to supporters, asking them to try the contentious tour.

The 30-year-old American urged them not to judge the tour until they had experienced it firsthand and assured them that if they just went to one event, they would be hooked for life.

LIV Golf has been embroiled in controversy since its establishment in 2021 with the support of Saudi Arabian wealth. It has lured players away from the PGA Tour with enormous contracts, upending the established golf scene. Many elite players have switched to LIV Golf as a result of this change, which has sparked discussions regarding the sport’s integrity and future.

But before a LIV event in Houston, Texas, DeChambeau encouraged residents to attend by urging them to “keep an open mind.”

He told reporters, “I think the first thing that I would say is try to keep an open mind just for one day.” “I think you’ll be a fan for life if you come out here one day with an open mind.”

Fellow LIV golfer Martin Kaymer echoed DeChambeau’s remarks, emphasizing the value of first-hand experience prior to forming opinions: “You can only have an opinion about something you have experienced.”

“Returning to the PGA Championship, I had numerous conversations with people regarding LIV. “Have you ever watched or been to an event?” I asked them. And a few of them replied, “No, but it’s not my thing.” I then said, “Listen.” Although I’ve never watched a cricket match, I can’t say for sure whether I like or dislike it.

As Bryson mentioned, I would thus urge people to visit and spend the day there in order to personally experience it. It’s great if they like it. It’s also acceptable if they don’t like it.”

Although there has been cooperation between the two tours—LEVI golfers are permitted to compete in this year’s Masters and PGA Championship, for instance—both are anticipated to remain independent organizations for the foreseeable future. Rumors of a possible merger between LIV Golf and the PGA were rampant last year.
