PHIL MICKELSON’S NEW CADDIE CONFIRMED AHEAD OF NEXT LIV GOLF EVENT AND MASTERS

Report: After brother Tim announced his retirement, Phil Mickelson signed veteran caddie Jon Yarbrough.

According to Golfweek, Phil Mickelson hired seasoned caddie Jon Yarbrough following his brother Tim’s retirement announcement.

On March 26, Mickelson, 53, announced that his younger brother Tim was giving up his bag.

Lefty announced the news on X and Twitter.

He claimed that Tim will be able to spend more time with his family now that he has decided to retire.

Being able to celebrate my professional successes with my brother Tim has been extremely meaningful. He’s been my brother for life and has been on the bag for me for the past eight years, which makes me very lucky.

Mickelson tweeted:

“It has been an incredible experience to share my professional achievements with my brother Tim,” Mickelson wrote. “I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had him as my brother for life and on the bag for the last eight years.” Since we began working together and he was single, a lot has changed. Tim has found his life partner, Maranda, with whom he has had a second son, and they hope to grow their family further. “I’ll always cherish the many great moments we’ve shared on the course, and I look forward to many more special moments off the course, too,” the woman said, “even though Tim is retiring from caddying.”
Tim was an Arizona State golf coach and Jon Rahm’s agent before joining the six-time major winner’s staff.
Tim, who is seven years younger than Phil, shared three wins with Mickelson, the greatest of which came at the 2021 US PGA at Kiawah Island, where Lefty, at the age of fifty-one months and 11 months, became the oldest major champion in history.

In addition, he was the favorite to win the 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship.

Then, in the summer of 2022, Mickelson famously bolted to LIV Golf after allegedly accepting a $200 million fee.

Jon Yarbrough is the new caddie for Phil Mickelson.
Golfweek understands that veteran looper Jon Yarbrough will now assume the lead after the Mickelson brothers parted ways on the fairways.

Yarbrough has caddied on the PGA Tour for over 20 years, spending ten of those years assisting players like multiple winner Scott Stalings.

Moreover, he has caddied for Suzann Pettersen, Kelly Robbins, Morgan Pressel, Gary Woodland, Bill Haas, and Smylie Kaufman.

#NEW: Phil Mickelson’s caddie has changed. Phil’s new caddie will reportedly be 20-year PGA TOUR veteran looper Jon Yarbrough, according to @golfweek. According to @ProGolfCritic, the two have already made a scouting trip to Augusta.

Next week, Yarbrough will compete in his first Mickelson-sponsored event at LIV Golf Miami.

After that, they’re going to The Masters.

Pro Golf Critic claims that Yarbrough and Mickelson have already scouted Augusta.

With victories in the Masters in 2004, 2006, and 2010, Mickelson is a three-time winner.

Even though he currently sits 156th in the Official World Golf Rankings, Mickelson can play at The Masters for as long as he wants because he has won the event in the past.
