Red Bull ‘change plans’ in Christian Horner investigation after new allegation

Red Bull is looking into claims that Christian Horner acted inappropriately.

There are rumors that Red Bull wants to expedite its investigation into Christian Horner’s behavior so that it concludes by the end of next week. The 50-year-old is under investigation for alleged inappropriate behavior, which he fiercely disputes. The investigation began after a female coworker complained to Red Bull’s parent company in Austria.

Just a few weeks before the new season kicks off, a Dutch newspaper has since revealed a fresh accusation that threatens to worsen the situation at Red Bull. Reportedly, Red Bull’s management is trying to expedite the investigation, and the reigning champions are now hoping that the story will be concluded in the next few days.

It was previously reported that the investigation might continue until after the Bahrain Grand Prix next month, with Horner probably facing more rounds of questioning following his grilling by a top lawyer last week. Red Bull, however, is reportedly keen to get the process over with as soon as possible.

It is believed that Horner, who has been with Red Bull since their F1 debut in 2005, gave legal advice to help him refute the latest accusation. The charge, it is said, hasn’t done much to allay concerns about his future, which is purportedly in jeopardy.

Red Bull said in a statement earlier this month that they were treating the investigation “very seriously” and that they would come to a decision “as soon as practicable.”

The statement said, “The company initiated an independent investigation after becoming aware of recent allegations.” “An outside, specialized attorney is conducting this already-initiated investigation.

The company is taking these issues very seriously, and it plans to wrap up its investigation as soon as is practical. At this point, it would not be appropriate to make any more remarks.”

At Red Bull’s season opening event on Thursday, Horner responded to a question about his future by saying, “The support from within the business, of our partners, within the industry, has been overwhelming.”

“A process is undoubtedly in progress at the moment; certain accusations have been made, which I categorically refute. I am, and will remain, compliant with the process until its resolution. In my opinion, it’s been quite evident, and Red Bull’s stance has been that everything is continuing as usual.

“Obviously, there is a job to do and I fully deny the accusations that have been made, and my role obviously continues. Of course, the allegations are a process that Red Bull is going through and have confirmed that process externally.”
