PAIGE SPIRANAC TAKES DIM VIEW OF PGA TOUR PLAYER’S OUTBURST

Paige Spiranac says she’s a fan of the golfer but ‘hates’ his take of the boozy fans at the 2024 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Although Paige Spiranac likes Zach Johnson, she claims to have “hated his take” after the 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup captain voiced her displeasure with the boisterous spectators at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The weekend’s PGA Tour event was marred by misbehavior from some fans who seemed to have consumed excessive amounts of alcohol.

It hasn’t been confirmed whether a woman’s reported fall from the grandstand at the famous 16th hole was caused by drinking.

Nevertheless, numerous videos of inebriated fans going above and beyond their limits were posted on social media.

One clip showed a man wetting himself while presumably asleep. In another, a man was carried about on his friend’s shoulders.

At the previously mentioned 16th, someone was also taken into custody after leaping over the ropes and plunging into the greenside bunker.

Naturally, the spectators also let out a few chirps at the players.

According to reports, Johnson confronted the person or people who made the comment after learning that he ought to have brought Talor Gooch of LIV Golf to the Ryder Cup in September of last year.

“Stop’sir’ing me,” he yelled before turning to leave.

Subsequently, Billy Horschel emerged as the second athlete to assume personal responsibility.

Johnson claims that the 2024 competition may be his final appearance at the Phoenix Open.

Johnson informed a reporter that TPC Scottsdale has always had people step over the line.

“This is my 21st year on the Tour, and this tournament has been inappropriate or over the line ever since,” he declared.

It raised the question of why, given how awful things are, the golfer still shows up.

Paige commented on X, saying, “Big ZJ fan but personally hate this take.”

“Then, don’t play it. Over the years, the competition has been excellent for the game’s development.”

Big fan of ZJ, but I disagree with this viewpoint. Then, don’t play it. It’s been an amazing competition for the game’s development.

Despite the fact that this boisterous behavior arguably only occurs once a year, the tournament organizers have had enough.

According to Thunderbirds executive director Chance Cozby, the competition will be “completely overhauled” in 2025.

Cozby stated to Golf Channel, “We’re not happy with what occurred on Saturday.

The players are not happy with what transpired on Saturday. Nothing is off the table because what happened on Saturday upset our fans.”

“We are going to make changes,” he continued. We have 365 days to resolve this; there is no vacation time.”
