Just in time for the start of the Formula One season, Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season of Drive to Survive. But fans noticed right away that Max Verstappen wasn’t in the trailers or the promotional posters. This sparked a barrage of queries from Formula One fans for the DTS creators, with some expressing their annoyance by posing the question “WTF is DTS gonna do?”
On February 12, Netflix released an exciting teaser for the highly anticipated sixth season of Drive to Survive. Even though the teaser featured a number of drivers and team executives, fans were still curious about the whereabouts of the Dutch world champion. Twitter users responded angrily to this omission.
Fans might be shocked to hear that Verstappen will actually be in the next season, though, as he isn’t shown in the teaser. Being the world champion, the Dutchman himself stated last year that he had to be in the Netflix series.
Verstappen discussed his Season 5 comeback with Racing News 365, saying, “I know that especially being a World Champion, you have to be part of something like that.” Since this is merely a teaser, Netflix might release a full trailer at some point to confirm Verstappen’s Season 6 appearance by putting him front and center.
Verstappen had made it clear that he had settled all of his concerns regarding the phony drama with the show’s producers. He agreed to appear in the final season as a result of that resolution.
But fans have already witnessed Verstappen disappear from the show and refuse to appear on camera or in interviews prior to this in the fourth season. Fans might have thought that Verstappen’s absence from the trailer meant more failures due to this history. They have undoubtedly expressed their dissatisfaction with Drive to Survive on Twitter as a result of it.
