Toto Wolff issues statement Sebastian Vettel could replace Lewis Hamilton

Toto Wolff mentioned Sebastian Vettel as a potential Lewis Hamilton substitute.

The Formula One world was rocked by Hamilton’s shocking announcement that he will leave Mercedes and join Ferrari in 2025.

This has consequently led to Wolff’s unexpected job opening at Mercedes for the upcoming year.

Could this encourage Vettel to make a comeback from retirement?

Wolff answered, “I think he made the decision to not race anymore.”

“We have regular conversations. We had a conversation yesterday as well, but it wasn’t about driving in the future.

After working with Aston Martin for a while, Vettel retired at the end of 2022.

Hamilton has a long friendship with the four-time Formula One champion.

Even though he was successful at Red Bull, Vettel’s high-profile move to Ferrari did not work out, and he was unable to win the F1 championship for the renowned Italian team for the first time since Kimi Raikkonen in 2007.

Next year, Hamilton plans to join Ferrari with the dual goals of breaking the team’s record and winning an unprecedented eighth championship.

Helmut Marko of Red Bull had previously mentioned that Vettel might make a comeback to Formula One.

“I believe Sebastian doesn’t know exactly what he should be doing right now and feels like he doesn’t have a specific task.” Somewhere, he needs to make a choice,” he said to ServusTV.

“I don’t think he’s done with the driver situation yet.”
